Goji Berries - Super Food

Goji Berries have been enjoyed by the people of Asia for more than 6000 years and revered as a miracle panacea for all ills.
Goji Berries are the Anti Ager and Immune System Builder, help improve vision, boost liver function, and improve circulation. Goji Berries are bursting with nutrition and are said to be the single most nutritional natural food there is. They contain the complete spectrum of antioxidants which are known to fight free radicals the principle cause of ageing and all cancer, including the ability to repair damaged DNA. Principle amongst these antioxidants is vitamin C. Vitamin C is water soluble, which means it has a tendency to dissolve and be easily excreted from our bodies.
Goji berries contain one of the highest amounts of vitamin C of any fruit. Other vitamins found in Goji include E, B1, B2, and B6, which converts food into energy. Goji contains 19 Amino Acids, the building block of Protein and no fewer than 18 Trace Minerals, including Germaium an Anti Cancer trace mineral. Goji is also high in Beta-Sitosterol which lowers cholesterol and Prostate enlargement, and contains Essential Fatty Acids for Brain and Nervous system function which aids the production of Hormones. Goji is extremely high in ORAC levels.
ORAC means (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) is a method of measuring antioxidant capacities in fruit and vegetables. The antioxidants strength is its ability to eliminate free radicals. A person needs to get about 5000 ORAC units per day for maximum benefits. Eating a small handful or 20 grams of Goji berries gives the body that benefit.
Look at the evidence, there are 16 times more people reaching 100 in areas of the world where Goji berries are a stable part of the diet.
If you are taking blood thinners such as the drug Warfarin, Goji may interact with the anticoagulant.

Best way to ingest Goji is as a raw snack or add at least 2 heaped tablespoons to your daily smoothie.    YUM.
